I reported that I was heading back to the mountain on 29th October. This is still the case, staying in Paris on the 29th and 30th to arrive back at Le Mont du Cornu on 31st October. Then I shall be looking after the Retreat whilst the owners take a group to the monastery.

Chambers and I have agreed on a final draft of the story to pass to our editors.
The deal is always the set up for the next instalment of the story and what gets revealed now vs what gets revealed later; and as the next part of the story (Storm Clouds) is the final part of series one it had to be poised just right. We stayed with 'The Fanshawe Scroll' for the title in the end. I would say that, at this stage, The Fanshawe Scroll will probably be in the Boutique by the close of play on the 5th October. As well as delivering 'Storm Clouds', I have a new story (Dabs of Blue) which I am working on and Chambers is working on the next Zac Tremble case file (Paris Revisited) so the appearance of Storm Clouds might not be as quick but you will have the other stories to look forward to as well. ALP XX See the very cool range of options in the new Boutique which allow you to personalise your eBook or create a unique gift.

New titles are being added all of the time. ALP We seem to be entering a crazy phase with so many projects that Chambers - my partner in crime novels - has called a halt to re-group and prioritize - very sensibly.
I just don't know how to stop myself from getting into these fixes and now - completely snowed - I grind to a halt. So, writing down what I need to do will probably help: - get books onto Carter Seagrove Book Boutique shelves (roughly 20 titles are waiting to be sorted and loaded - OMG!) - get The Fanshawe Scroll ready for publication - issue with choosing the right poetry for inclusion - my fault, changed tack - will do it today - promise! - have started a new Alp Mortal romance 'Dabs of Blue' - came from nowhere and took over for a whole day; sorry! - getting the next issue of Window on the Workshop ready for circulation - too much material to sift through, need to focus ... I detect a trend! - Book club posts to the forum ... my head is spinning. - Design covers for re-issue of paperbacks through the new POD supplier - having way too much fun and spending hours looking for 'images which WOW the eye' - particularly stuck on Brave ... I should really do the artwork myself - NO! - managing the bids for the Dust Jacket signed copies - help!! - Writing my parts of Storm Cloud - the 6th Fenchurch mystery - Chambers is waiting, has taken the dog out, my time is running out; sun is shining and the beach is so inviting ... too many inputs but too few brain cells - is there a cure? - travel plans for the trip to Paris and Biarritz to complete the research for Storm Clouds ... I can't find my new passport - plan to get back to the Retreat by 31st October - can I buy extra days? - Eat, sleep, chill, cook, clean, talk ... why did I evolve from a hunter gatherer? - RELAX I need a Man-Monday, Man-Tuesday, Man-Wednesday, Man-Thursday and Man-Friday - weekends off, all the ratatouille you can eat, must love dogs, have own publishing company with team of artists, designers, editors and website developers, accountants and PR specialists and marketing gurus ... can someone please find the product code for my laptop battery so that I can order a replacement? I am IN NEED ... apply in person in skimpy swimming trunks ... all CVs to be laminated. ALP XXX The ten signed copies of Dust Jacket are up for grabs; email your bid for a copy signed by me (Alp) and Chambers; the top five bids go to charity and the other five contribute to our illustration fund. Email your bid by 30th September to:
[email protected] Alp xx When Chambers and I created The Carter Seagrove Project as a creative space to host our collaboration projects we didn't have any strict agenda apart from having a lot of fun. And we've already had plenty of fun with the Inspector Fenchurch Mysteries. Shannon contacted us a while back just chatting about a couple of stories he had read and that lead to the idea of a collaboration between us; The Golf Widow is the result and it is Shannon's story through and through; Chambers and I were just on hand to lend our support when it was needed. And it was so cool that Shannon agreed to help us with the cover of the newly edited BRAVE which was due to be re-published for the Boutique; so it was even more the pure energetic exchange that we all embrace as part of the Carter Seagrove Project ethos.
So, Shannon has just published The Golf Widow and here's the link to the Shannon M. Kirkland website where you can find out more about the story and Shannon; albeit, we plan a blog interview very soon, so look out for that. The Golf Widow will soon be on the Boutique shelf but it is already available from all of the usual eBook retailers including Smashwords. And we are even more thrilled that Shannon has already started his second story The Interior Designer ... watch this space! Alp XX |
