I am working ... promise!

I am working but being down here on the Riviera with Chambers is the perfect excuse to take some time out and actually have a proper break. That said, we are working and, of course, not on the project which brought me down here in the firs place. Our plan had been to knock out the Space opera but a casual remark by one of my closest and dearest friends, who had suggested writing 'The Blakeley Affair' hit a chord and that is the story which Chambers and I are working on right now. The Blakeley Affair by Carter Seagrove is a fictitious book which features in our story Dust Jacket. It's a murder mystery featuring the Edwardian detective, Inspector Fenchurch. Typically, Chambers and I have seen the potential for a series of case files much like Zac Tremble Investigates, except that the series will be based on the Riviera, specifically around Chambers' own Saint Tropez.

So, The Blakeley Affair is underway and progressing smoothly; so much easier to write together when you are both sat at the same table.

If there is to be a series then some research is definitely going to be required and I think we're off to Nice tomorrow and maybe Menton. Chambers is keen to visit Villa Beau Site in Nice, the former home of Gisele Tissier who, along with her husband, organised lavish evening entertainment events during the inter-war period, les fetes d'arts des annees folles ... excuse my appaling pronunciation, Chambers says it properly and there's nothing like the soft and seductive tones of a southern Frenchman ... and I must find myself one!
