Newsletter ...

Apologies for not being able to announce that the first edition of Window On The Workshop is available ... just too much to do with the work to finalise the latest Inspector Fenchurch mystery.

Suffice to say that the newsletter will be out very soon; which means that you still have time to sign up for it. CLICK HERE

A number of people have asked if they could submit a poem or a short story and have it included; the answer is a big fat "YES".

If you have a poem or a short story or a story that you wanted to serialise, then contact us to discuss the prospect of featuring the piece in the eZine ... drop me a line at [email protected]

Like I said, one of the reasons for the delay in the publication of the newsletter was the finalisation of the first draft of The Helios Protocol; and Chambers and I expect to submit the story to our beloved editors by the end of the weekend; with a publication date of say the 15th August, all being well. The you can look forward to the fifth Fenchurch mystery 'The Fanshawe Scroll' and then you can look forward to a break and some new stuff from me and Chambers in our own right; particularly Chambers who has this mania for getting Zac out on the shelf.

I never realised just how involved you could become in a character and a series until we began writing Fenchurch; now I have even more respect for Chambers who has given so much to the Zac Tremble Investigates series ... it isn't telling tales when I tell you that the character of Zachary Tremble is partly autobiographical; Chambers used to be an investigator for a large insurance company and he's always been very involved in the art world, as artist, collector, dealer and patron.

The idea of inviting people to participate in our work then gave rise to a discussion around crowdfunding and, whereas I have kind of dismissed the idea of a crowdfunded project, Chambers is pushing me to look at Kickstarter to raise funds to get both the Zac series and the Fenchurch series illustrated in the manner of the short stories which Le Monde, the French newspapers, publishes each summer (Le Monde teams together a writer and an illustrator to create what is termed a Polar, another name for a novella. They produce about 12 short stories for the summer.)

Well, that just sounds like a whole new heap of stuff to do ... so best get on with it!
